fancy picture post - a week in photos

Trying a new way of sharing photos. We got a lot of feed back regarding the last post and its content focused around poop. It was Aimee's first blogging attempt. I have since changed the password to our account. This has been a huge week for Cooper. He slept through the night 3 times within the past week! Just when we were getting used to life on only 3hrs of sleep he throws us another curve ball. Enjoy the newest album.

As you will see in the first photo Cooper is ready his first New Years Eve party..

New Computer Edition

Busy times around here. We bought a new computer 3 weeks ago and it's been sitting in the box on the stairs for almost that long. Cooper was being a champion napper this morning so I decided to use my first day of vacation to finally get our new computer up and running. I thought that loading all of our Cooper photos onto the new computer warranted a new blog post.

Cooper is great. We look at him everyday and cannot believe he is ours. These past few weeks he has reached many milestones. Here is a brief summary of his accomplishments.

- He laughs and smiles all the time.
- Slept for 7 hrs one night! He ended our streak of no more than 3hrs of uninterrupted sleep at about 70 days. Of course we were sad to see that streak broken.
- Weighs close to 13 lbs.
- In just this past week he has found his voice. Happy screeches and lots of cooing.
- A full head of fuzzy hair has suddenly popped up.
And I think (doubt Aimee thinks the same way) the most amazing feat of all has been in his diapers. Not so much amazing like we are enjoying it or proud. More like amazing like we don't even know how it happens. On multiple occasions he has pooped straight through his diapers. It hasn't leaked out the top, bottom, or even the sides. It has gone straight through. Luckily, for him and us there has been a shower nearby on every occasion. If this were to happen while we were out one day I have no idea what we would do. There is just not enough wipes in one package to clean up that mess. I've been telling Aimee that we need to come up with some new invention and sell it to new parents. You should just see the ridiculous baby products that can be purchased at Babies R Us. Now I doubt that Cooper is the only baby capable of this poop through diaper magic trick. How about some sort of portable baby bidet? I'm sure it would be a hot seller in Europe. Now that I have managed to write an entire paragraph about poop (hopefully Cooper's sense of humor will be slightly more mature than mine) and probably disgusted many, enjoy yourself some Cooper snapshots.

Watch for Cooper's first Christmas and New Year's Eve blog coming soon.

Happy 2 months

It's hard to believe but Cooper is two months today. He's grown so much these in these past 8 weeks. He will not have his next official weigh in until next week, but I would guess he will clock in at over 11.5lbs. These past 60 days or so have been such a whirlwind for us. We like to think that we've found our groove and are really getting this parenting thing. We've taken him out to dinner many times successfully and even up to VT twice. However, our trip home from VT last weekend really made us doubt our judgement. We were in the car no longer than 15 minutes when Cooper lost it and we could tell from the funk emanating from the back seat just what Cooper's problem was. We pulled over on the snowy road and changed him in the little space we had in the car. Of course it was the perfect storm. Snow coming down, stuck in the car and Cooper drops a poop to end them all. I swear he was smiling as I was wiping poop off of the back seat. I passed him into the front seat to eat and then the entire situation was repeated. This time in the front seat. Needless to say, this quick stop took and hour and a 3.5hr trip took us nearly 6 this day. We aren't blaming our parenting and saying just before we got in the car around the time we should have fed him "ah don't worry he will just sleep the whole way home". Instead, we're thinking he just loves Vermont and wanted to stay a bit longer. I mean he did have us pull over in a very scenic spot (see the top photo).

In just the past couple weeks he has developed many babyisms. He makes lots of baby noises, loves when we sing to him, enjoys my guitar playing (obviously he has good taste in music), smiles all the time, and he's even begun to enjoy his little toys. Aimee and I swore we would never have any battery powered toys. We received some as gifts and as last resort turned to them try and get Cooper off the ledge. As much as it kills me to hear the sounds they make, he loves them.

New this week... cloth diapers. Have you tried folding those things? Stay tuned to see how this adventure goes. My unbiased opinion... He looks very cute in them.
