Cooper's Breakfast

Introducing the new blog. In an interest to keep our few readers happy I am going to try and blog more frequently. I've received many complaints about the amount of time between posts. Mainly from one salty younger brother, but this is not the place to name names. So being the good listener that I am I've made some changes. Enjoy!

Cooper's eating display this morning was hilarious. He loves rice cereal but this morning he showed his appreciation for it in a whole new way. As you can see by the pictures, breakfast started well. Enjoy breakfast photos as well as some other photos from the week.

**Remember** You can always click on the line that is underlined and colored on every post to take you to a new photo album. There are also links to all of his albums on the right side of the blog.

Cooper's 5 (months)

It has been quite a while since the last post. Just about a month. I am definitely a delinquent blogger. These past 5 months have flown by. We seem to have Cooper's dairy allergy and reflux under control and as a result his entire demeanor has changed over the past month. He spends so much of his day smiling and making all sorts of happy baby noises. If we could just get him to sleep at night we would be in business.

Cooper seems to be able to do something new everyday. He began eating real food a few weeks ago. He's not a big fan of carrots or sweet potatoes, but he does love himself some rice cereal. His two favorite activities are screeching and bouncing. We pulled out this bouncy seat contraption a few weeks back and he absolutely loves it. He can bounce for extended periods of time and happily occupy himself. One our friend's with a little one a bit older than Cooper also has one of these bouncy seats and they have named it the circle of neglect. That is just what this thing is. I'm pretty sure Aimee and I can put Cooper in the seat, walk down the street to catch a movie, and then come home hours later to find him just as happy and well entertained as we left him. If I could just rig up a baby foam dome Cooper would become the first self-sufficient 5 month old.

Wondering how the ferberizing went? Well, he's still not sleeping for extended periods at night and we are on a ferberization hiatus. Two issues have brought on this hiatus. One, Cooper has a problem with his parents. One of his parents was fully on board with the Ferber plan and got so adept at blocking out the crying that sleep for that parent was returning. The other parent was just not as strong. I believe they may have even cursed the Ferber method. Issue number two is that he has started to roll over in his crib. He really doesn't enjoy sleeping on his belly and cannot figure out how to right himself. The crying that results makes the previous crying sound like a whimper. So the long and short is that Cooper won this round. Hopefully, round two begins shortly.
